Meet our Staff

Matt Henry

Matt Henry started gymnastics following the 1996 Atlanta Olympics at only 6 years old. It was hard to find him not upside down on his hands everywhere he went! After just a few short months he was competing for Brian and J.J. Jones at the Academy of Gymnastics (hence the name of the gym!). Not too long after he started training under Phil Savage at the Knoxville Gymnastics Training Center, and once his competitive career was over, he instantly started coaching. Matt has always had a passion for gymnastics, and working with kids so to be able to combine those things was a dream come true. One thing he wants all of his athletes to know is that success if something that everyone can find, but you have to be relentless, tenacious and a little crazy to find it!

Andrew Richards

Andrew Richards began his gymnastics career at the age of 10. He quickly found his way to a Boys Advanced class with Matt Henry as his coach! Just a short time later he joined the competitive team program where he competed until he graduated high school! He’s worked with Matt for several years, and has developed into a phenomenal coach. He has a genuine passion for working with kids that you’ll see from day one.
